Old Ochre Chalk Paint
This pale “cream” is a classic neutral with gray undertones, and has been compared to the color of sand. It does not have the yellow tint that many creams have. Depending on your piece, you might want to prime first to avoid any problems with wood tannins bleeding through. Go here to learn all about how to properly prep furniture for painting.

Old Ochre distresses easily and looks beautiful alongside other neutral paint colors. It’s great when you want a soft off-white look but not very bright like Old White or Pure White. (Also see how it compares to Original white Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan.)
How to Seal Old Ochre Chalk Paint
To seal and protect Old Ochre, apply Annie Sloan’s clear wax with a wax brush or lint-free cloth to keep its true color. Sealing with brown or black wax will completely change the look of your piece, giving it more depth and dimension. It’s always advised to apply clear wax first before using a dark wax color to control how dark the piece actually gets. You can then apply more clear wax on top to remove some of the darker wax.
