Hey guys! I’ve been doing this blogging thing for quite a while now, and I thought it would be fun to revisit some of my past yard sale furniture makeovers – especially for all the new followers out there.
Yard sales are my favorite place to go shopping for furniture to redo – they’re usually cheaper than thrift stores, and the sellers are almost always willing to negotiate.
Here are a few of my favorite transformations – some of the Afters look completely different than the Befores! Click any link below to visit the full tutorial of the makeover.

What a fun look back at all your amazing transformations!! I have put myself on a yard sale diet this Summer so I can get rid if what I already have, but I know I’m missing out on some steals!! That cabinet with the faux mini drawers was awesome! XO

Thank you Marie! It was fun for me to go back through them all too! 🙂 Sometimes it’s easy to forget everything you’ve done…

Hi, I’ve just decoupaged some crates after seeing your finished beauties. Just a question though, do you seal them after you’ve lightly sanded them and would you still sand if you’ve used wrapping paper instead of napkins?
Thanks x
Jen, Girl in the Garage says
Hi Nicola, I do not usually seal them after unless I suspect they might get a lot of wear and tear. Also I don’t sand much after the Mod Podge dries, only around the edges to get them crisp and straight. Sanding too much might remove some of the paper – unless you’re going for a really rustic look. Hope that helps! Glad you liked the tutorial. 🙂
