Country Grey Chalk Paint
This is a soft, cool “cream” color and is slightly darker than Old Ochre. Country Grey is not actually gray, but Annie Sloan groups it into her gray paint category. It’s similar to Silly Putty. Depending on your piece, you might want to prime first to avoid any problems with wood tannins bleeding through. Go here to learn all about how to properly prep furniture for painting.

Country Grey distresses easily and looks beautiful alongside other neutral paint colors and also brown stain for a classic two-tone look.
How to Seal Country Grey Chalk Paint
To seal and protect Country Grey, apply Annie Sloan’s clear wax with a wax brush or lint-free cloth to keep its true color. Sealing with brown or black wax will completely change the look of your piece, giving it more depth and dimension. (I prefer clear or brown wax with Country Grey.) It’s always advised to apply clear wax first before using a dark wax color to control how dark the piece actually gets. You can then apply more clear wax on top to remove some of the darker wax. On contrast, sealing with white wax would make your piece look slightly lime-washed.
