I am so glad January is ending- that means winter is more than half over! On those days when it’s freezing cold or super windy and you just want to stay inside, a quick update to an item you already have around the house can be a fun activity. Today I’m showing you a simple way to add some personality to a household necessity with washi tape. These little clothespins come in pretty handy around the house- but we mostly use them as chip clips.
You can buy a large pack of wooden or plastic clips almost anywhere for just a few dollars.
Then all you need is various colorful styles of washi tape and a pair of scissors!
Wrap the tape around the clip and if you have any trouble with any of the edges not laying flat, you can add a little Mod Podge or super glue to hold it down. (That only happened with one of my clips.)
They add some fun personality to my pantry – and they’d also be great to use in a home office for keeping important papers together.
I liked the clips so much that I taped two more and then added magnets on the back. (I bought a 10 ft. long roll with adhesive on one side at Hobby Lobby for about $3.)
I stuck them on the side of my fridge for holding important things. 😉
Such a simple makeover, but what an impact! What do you think?

Love the idea. What a fun craft or even a great gift for Christmas, birthdays etc. I think I need some washi tape now.

I love your clips. I will have to make some for our fridge … and for our clips, too! I just discovered a Hobby Lobby about 30 mins from my house, so I will have to check it out!

I love these!! I just wanted to let you know that I plan to include these clips in a round up of 5 minute back to school projects. I’ll comply with your sharing policy (one photo and a link back) but just wanted to let you know! 🙂 Thanks!
