Hi friends, happy Thursday! Today’s post is about a simple mirror makeover to show you how much of a difference just a change of color can make. I usually like to add a stencil or special paint technique to my pieces to make them memorable, but sometimes the detail is already stunning and all it needs is a new paint color. I’m also sharing six of my friends’ white makeovers to give you more inspiration – but if you want to pin any of their pieces, please click over to their blog first.
I bought this mirror at a yard sale last fall – it looks like wood but it’s really a thick plastic. My mother says it’s vintage Home Interiors.
I thought it would look better with some Old White Chalk Paint® and clear wax by Annie Sloan.
Doesn’t it look so much better in white? I love the scrolls and other details!
Here are a few other classic white projects from my friends:
1. Artsy Chicks Rule painted this chair in a mix of two shades of white Chalk Paint®:
2. Petticoat Junktion gave this wicker-style chest a bright white makeover:
4. This white desk looks so much better after its makeover by Petticoat Junktion.
6. This lantern got a new coastal look from Artsy Chicks Rule with white spray paint.
Are you a fan of white?
Remember, even a simple makeover can make a big impact in your decor!

Ha! Your mom is right. I remember Home Interior too. I can spot a piece a mile away. My aunt used to sell Home Interior decor. The mirror doesn’t look plastic after you painted it. Looks great. Thanks for sharing my projects.

I am enjoying seeing your projects. I love the mirror in white. I wondered how it would look slightly tinting some of the decoration?

Wow, does your mirror ever look good after a fresh coat of old white – you’d never know it was plastic and it just brings out all the details so nicely. Love all the white projects you featured here too.
