Hey guys! I’m back with a furniture makeover today and it’s a pretty cool one, if I do say so. 😉 I can honestly say I’ve never seen anyone else update furniture with this idea.
I got this little midcentury table at a barn sale for $6. Not a bad deal!

I decided to paint the body of it white (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White) and protect it with Annie’s clear wax applied with a lint-free cloth. Then I planned to use this gorgeous brown leather to cover the drawer fronts (find similar faux leather here):
I flipped the leather over and traced the drawers with a pen. Then I got to cutting… I used my old sewing scissors and definitely had to put some muscle into it! The leather I used is thick and good quality. (I took the next few pics at night when all three boys were asleep and I could get some work done…)
I glued the leather on with my favorite E6000 glue, set a bunch of heavy books on top, and let it sit overnight.
And here’s the finished look…
I just LOVE the texture of the leather on this vintage table!
I’d love to know what you think of my midcentury table makeover.
I couldn’t resist staging it with some of my favorite vintage accessories.
Please feel free to share this project with a friend or Pin it to easily find again later.
I hope this has inspired you to try something new for your next project. Have a fantastic day, friend! – Jen

What an awesome idea to use leather on the drawer fronts of this dresser. It gives it a masculine look that will look great in a bedroom or study. That leather is so pretty and I’ll bet it smelled great while you were working with it.
