Hi there, creative friend! I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far.
Today is the 2nd installment of the monthly Trash to Treasure series with a few of my blogging friends – HERE are last month’s projects if you missed them.
One problem (is it really a problem though?) I have when I go thrifting is that I buy random inexpensive pieces and store them away knowing that “one day” I’ll do something cool with them. These are the pieces that I started with for this project (probably a total of $7 spent):
Tip: Use stable pieces – especially for the base and the candlesticks. Also you don’t want the heaviest weight at the top.
I used my awesome E6000 (pretty much the strongest adhesive ever) to glue the pieces together as a DIY tiered display stand.
Here it is glued, but not very pretty yet~
I painted it with a couple coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White and added a little clear wax for protection.
NOW it’s looking pretty. 😉
This tiered stand can be used for displaying desserts, fruit, greenery, ornaments at Christmas, etc. It can also be used for storage – as you can tell, I filled it with some of my favorite accessories.
Here’s a before/after collage:
What do you think?
Thanks so much for visiting me for Trash to Treasure Tuesday!

What a great way to use odds and ends from the thrift store. For fall I can see this loaded with gourds, acorns and leaves as part of a table top vignette.

Love the collection you put together! They’re perfectly matched and to think it all came from an unwanted collection. Great job, Jen! 😀

Great job!! I actually just bought several pieces from our local thrift store about a week ago to do the same thing for my daughter’s birthday party. I plan to use it for serving some of the dessert. Yours looks awesome. Hopefully mine is half as good 🙂
